Cheryl Childs is a third generation, lifelong horsewoman.  Her experience ranges from trail riding and showing to saddle training horses from the ground up. She began instructing in 1989, specializing in Adult Amateur Riders. Cheryl  is the developer of Women and Horses, Mind, Spirit, and Body seminars. Cheryl is now on a mission to bring back balanced and correct horsemanship, which she feels is disappearing today. Only through balanced and correct horsemanship do riders develope the skills to truly enjoy riding and ride safely. Cheryl feels that many "problem" horses are created through improper balance and incorrect horsemanship. Cheryl will be inviting riders to partipicate with her in the arena to gain that "Balanced and Correct Horsemanship" Cheryl will also be inviting horse owners to participate in  "Ground Exercises for the Untrained Horse of Any Age"

DISTANCE RIDING
Joan A. Bass
FOOTING ISSUES
Lyn and Haywood Walker
Joan A. Bass grew up riding horses. Like many women Joan was away from horses while raising her family. She returned to horses when her children were nearly grown and began doing Limited Distance Endurance Riding. In four riding seasons she, and her Paso Fino gelding AV Gaberiel, competed in 34 American Endurance Ride Conference sanctioned limited distance rides. They completed 33 of the 34 rides. In 2005 Joan and “Gabe” were the American Endurance Ride Conference Central Region Limited Distance Mileage Champions. Joan will be speaking on What You Need to Know to Get Started in the Sport of Limited Distance Riding.
Lyn Walker is a former university professor who retired to write a book. Now, four years later, Getting It Right: A Close Look at Stall Flooring reflects her knowledge of horse flooring possibilities as well as the needs of both horses and horse owners. As a horse owner from age eight on, Lyn and her father, and then Lyn and her husband have experimented with every type of stall flooring available because they “just knew there had to be something better”. They have studied both the impact various stall floorings have on horses and cleanup and maintenance requirements. Lyn’s research has made it clear that, while most horse owners sincerely want to do what is best for their horse, good intentions can lead to disastrous results. Lyn shares her knowledge, and as an advocate for horses hopes to make horse owners aware of why what your horse stands on really does matter. Lyn will be speaking in the Oklahoma Cover-All Lecture Hall on Why What Your Horse Stands on Matters.

Haywood Walker persuaded his parents to let him accompany his uncle on a two weeks stay at a circus training camp at  the age of eight years old. He learned a lot of things, but the ones that stayed with him were his love for horses and a passion for riding. Haywood considers riding in an indoor arena “nice”, but what he likes best is riding outdoors. “I am out there in the wind, the rain, the cold, and even the snow”. But everything he does is keyed to what is best for his horse, so sometimes when he would like to ride he can’t because the ground is too muddy, too wet, or  too slippery to make it safe for the horse. Traveling in Europe he came upon the ultimate solution for arena construction.  After years of dealing with drainage problems, ruts, mud and dust he was elated to find that it is really possible to build an arena that can last, without significant maintenance, for generations. Haywood is pleased to say he can now HELP you “Build Your Last Arena”. He will be speaking in the Oklahoma Cover-All Lecture Hall on that very topic.

RUBEN VILLASENOR TRAINING PROGRAMS
Ruben Villasenor
Ruben Villaseñor is a self taught horsemen. His exposure to horses came at an early age. His first time on a horse was at the age of 3. As a boy Ruben would learn horsemanship by watching the many horsemen he admired; including his father and maternal Grandfather who were greatly respected for their horsemanship skills. Over the years Ruben has refined his skills and developed his own methods. He uses traditional tools such as the Bosal a.k.a Hackamore; in fact they are exactly the same as the ones his father and grandfather used when they started horses. He uses the bosal to start all horses, and believes that this is the ideal tool when coupled with the correct knowledge of how to fit and use it most effectively. Ruben conducts private clinics as well as clinics at Expos.  Ruben will be performing in Dancing in the Dark and presenting yet to be determined training clinics in the Main Arena and the Hands on Arena .
